ABOUT US

Orange County Ballet Theater (OCBT) is a non-profit organization founded in 2006 by Jennifer and Dmitri Kulev. It is dedicated to presenting ballet and other dance forms to audiences of all ages and socioeconomic backgrounds. OCBT inspires and nurtures an appreciation for dance through outreach activities and community performances. It also provides young dancers with performance opportunities that meet professional standards of artistic development, performance values, and production qualities.
Individuals and Corporations help keep Orange County Ballet Theater dance programs alive because they know that the arts have a transcendent impact on the lives of our young dancers.
Artistic Directors
  • Alexander Romanchikov
    Alexander Romanchikov was born in Krasnodar, Russia, and began his dance journey in Moscow. He trained at the Ledyah Ballet Academy and the Vaganova Ballet Academy and joined the Mariinsky Ballet Company after graduation. He performed in principal roles and became a Soloist in 2008. Alexander showcased his talent in renowned festivals and toured worldwide. In 2020, he graduated as a ballet master. In 2022, he moved to California to continue his performing career, collaborating with contemporary choreographers and teaching at the Dmitri Kulev Classical Ballet Academy, where he became a director in 2024.
  • Alina Krasovskaya
    Alina, a St. Petersburg native, began her ballet journey at the Vaganova Ballet Academy. She later joined the Mariinsky Ballet Company, touring internationally and performing in various productions. In 2020, she earned a master’s degree in choreography and participated in the prestigious “Mariinsky” festival. In 2022, she moved to California, joined the Dmitri Kulev Classical Ballet Academy faculty, and became a studio director in 2024. Alina continues her career as a dancer, teacher, and choreographer, performing in numerous productions and creating contemporary pieces for competitions.
